Along cliffs on the edge of the Colombian Amazon, tens of thousands of ochre figures stretch for kilometres. Alongside deer, fish and handprints are animals some researchers read as Ice Age megafauna — giant sloths and mastodons — which would place the paintings among the earliest human art in the Americas.
