Despite its name, Nine Mile Canyon is actually 40 miles long and contains an estimated 1,000 rock art sites with over 10,000 individual petroglyphs and pictographs. Mostly created by the Fremont culture, the art depicts elaborate hunting scenes, bighorn sheep, and intricate, broad-shouldered anthropomorphic figures.
