Rising where Libya, Egypt and Sudan meet, Jebel Uweinat shelters thousands of paintings and engravings in its wadis and overhangs. Cattle, giraffes and human figures record the pastoral herders of a once-fertile Sahara, among the most important rock-art concentrations in the eastern desert.
