A cave above the Someș river in Sălaj county where the first Paleolithic paintings in Romania were discovered in 1978: a small horse and a feline painted in red ochre, attributed to the end of the Ice Age. Partially destroyed by quarrying and closed to visitors, it remains a landmark of prehistory in Eastern Europe.
