Tucked into the Santa Ynez Mountains above Santa Barbara, this small sandstone cave is deeply covered in complex, colorful pictographs painted by the Chumash people. Rendered in red, black, and white pigments, the art includes intricate mandalas, celestial motifs, and what some scholars believe may be a depiction of the 1054 AD solar eclipse.
